When it comes to conserving natural resources, there are many areas which are in need of assistance. Currently, ocean conservation is one of the most important. For, without valuable natural resources provided by the oceanic environment, many life forms would go extinct. Ultimately, human, sea and wild life would all be at risk without the food, air, protein and other nutrients provided by this incredible resource.
With that being said, there are also those which have been around for decades, in most cases these are valid non-profits who have and are doing great work with regards to conservation. The Ocean Conservancy and Marine Council which have been around for over forty plus years are often considered two of the best. For, the direct goals and priorities of these non-profits is to save the oceanic environment, sea life and those whom depend on its valuable natural resources.
The Oceanic Conservancy is concerned with keeping the ocean thriving with life while also maintaining a positive and nutrient rich environment for the communities and wildlife that need the ocean to survive. The Marine Council on the other hand, is working hard to promote the health and well being of the life swimming within ocean waters.
The Conservancy has been protecting the oceans and related environments for over forty five years. While the Marine Conservation Council has been around even longer. As such, these two are often considered essential in the success of this great endeavor. For, both have different through similar goals when it comes to saving the valuable resources which humans, sea life and wildlife need to sustain life.
Yet, neither of these organizations can continue to do this necessary work without the help of donors, volunteers and staff. For the most part, non-profits are ran solely on the donations of corporations, private individuals and in some cases, governments. Although, when it comes to eliminating acidification from the ocean floor, combating climate change and restoring coastlines and waterways after man-made and natural disasters, the funds received are often not near enough to complete these projects.
The Marine Council also helps to establish, strengthen and designate sanctuaries for a variety of sea life. In its efforts, sea turtles and other once endangered species are now being returned to the ocean on a regular basis. Volunteers associated with both organizations work to clean up local and international coastlines, coastal waters and to find habitats for injured coastal birds, seals, whales and other life around the world.
The staff and volunteers at any non-profit are often the ones on the frontline working the hardest to achieve these goals. In most cases, non-profits related to this type work operate on a world-wide basis. As such, volunteers are often needed from different areas of the world.
